        This institute was formed in January, 1963 in the name of RAC Training Center for the training of RAC personnel and officers. Initially this training center was started temporarily at Jabbar Junior Boarding, Bilara Road, Jodhpur. In 1964, this center was established in the present campus on Mandore Road. From the year 1983, this training institute was upgraded and renamed as Rajasthan Police Training Centre, Jodhpur and in addition to RAC, Rajasthan Police personnel also started training. The area of ​​the training center is about 175 acres and it is the second largest police training center in the state.

       Apart from Rajasthan Police, in this training institute, the soldiers of other states like Delhi Police, CISF, Nepal Police etc. were also trained. From the year 2007, commando training was started in this institute by the retired Indian Army officer Major General Shri Dalveer Singh (AVSM) and his team.

       Till now RAC, Rajasthan Police, ERT, Delhi Police, Haryana Police, Gujarat Police, J&K Basic Commando Course, Advanced Commando Course, Marksman Course, Weapon Tactics Course etc. have been conducted for the personnel and officers of Police, Railway Police Force, Border Home Guard, CRPF etc. In view of the challenges of the present times, commando training is being done additionally to the soldiers and officers who have done basic courses in this training institute.
