5 Year Integrated Program in Social Science

This integrated program aims at providing interdisciplinary perspective to the students for holistic development through core courses, subsidiary courses and field visits. The university aims at providing value based education in broad social sciences and interdisciplinary social sciences. The emphasis of this program is on maintaining the relevance of curriculum and encouraging the students to be self reliant and innovative. The first three years will cover the above mentioned areas, while the next two years will lead to a post graduate program in any of the selected disciplines by the student..

In each semester four subsidiary subjects are included to expose the student to the subjects of interdisciplinary nature.

About Course

It will be a five year residential program with an exit option after successful completion of three year i.e. Graduation. After completion of three years, Bachelor’s degree in Social Science will be awarded and students will be registered for Master’s degree at the next level. Bachelors program will be a comprehensive program in social sciences. The entire curriculum is broadly divided into three modules, i.e. Core Modules, Subsidiary Modules and Field Experiences and Learning.

Objective of Course

  1. The Core subjects are Political Science, Sociology, Law and Society and History. A student will be studying all the four subjects over a period of five semesters and in sixth semester internship and field work in relevant domain will be done.
  2. Under Subsidiary Modules various courses like Introduction to Geography, Economics, Psychology, World History, English Language and Literature, General Hindi, Introduction to Life Science, Environmental Science, Elementary Computer Science, Technology and Society, Basic Mathematics and Analytical and Logical reasoning will be taken up by the students..
  3. Field Experiences and Learning will be based on themes taken out of the core study subjects. 

 

Entry requirements  

            Applicants who satisfy these criteria will be eligible for an entrance test  Minimum 55% marks (5% relaxation for SC/ST/PH).

  1.  The applicant may be XII pass in any discipline.
