Dr. Bhupendra Singh (I.P.S)


Dr. Bhupendra Singh is a serving Indian Police Service Officer. After joining IPS in 1986(Rajasthan Cadre) he served various organisations in different capacities such as Assistant superintendent of Police, Jaipur City (1989-91), superintendent of Police in Baran, Churu, Sawai Madhopur(1991-1995), superintendent of Police, Central Bureau of Investigation (1995-1999), Superintendent of Police Jodhpur City (1999-2001), Deputy Inspector General, ACB, Jodhpur and Jaipur, Government of Rajasthan (2001-2004), Inspector General of Police in Anti-Corruption (2004), Inspector General of Police, Bharatpur Range (2005-2006), Inspector General of Police Personnel and HQs, Jaipur(2006-2007), Director Rajasthan Police Academy(2007-2012), Additional Director General of Police, Rajasthan and Officer on Special Duty (OSD) for Sardar Patel University of Police, Security and Criminal Justice Jodhpur (2012) before becoming the Pro Vice Chancellor (2013).
He has attended various professional courses in India and abroad such as, Major Case Management, PTC Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Ottawa, Canada and Management of Training Programme, National Police Academy, India.," 

He has a reputation of being a firm, fair and judicious administrator and an innovative leader. He has won various laurels such as Indian Police Medal (2002). 32 Bore Pistol awarded for outstanding work in ACB, Rajasthan (2004), State Government Award for Training (2011) and President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service(2015).

Apart from policing and Anti-Corruption work he has keen interest in research and human resource development. During stint as Director, Rajasthan Police Academy, Jaipur he has established different centres for Training and Research in Rajasthan Police Academy viz. Centre for Development of Police Science and Management, Centre for Research and Publication, Centre for Social Defence and Gender Studies. He started various research projects and the publication of Research Journal of Rajasthan Police Academy 'Rakshin' as Chief Editor. He is the Principal Investigator of Project 'Health care reforms for Police Personnel and their families in Rajasthan' funded by ICMR, in collaboration with IIHMR Jaipur.

Dr. Bhupendra Singh is an MBBS and Post Graduate in English Literature. He has diverse academic interests including Philosophy, Psychology, Ethics, Cultural Studies and Education.
